Television addiction.

I think it probably goes without saying but – I love a book. Nothing better for plunging you into a different world and leaving you feeling moved, startled, inspired or changed. I’m not as big on television (especially compared to my husband who seems to be especially enamoured with reality TV, go figure) but every now and then I get myself a television show addiction that I become a dog with a bone about.

I love this video of three friends enjoying their shared television addiction over a glass (or few) of wine. It reminds me of watching favourite shows with my sister, my husband, even my Mum or Dad. In our family home Mum normally has a basket of laundry to fold, Dad puts his feet up and likes to comment on ev-uh-ree-thing, my sister likes to roll her eyes at my Dad and my husband enjoys observing the rest of us with a big grin.

As for Downton Abbey, I’ve only seen one full episode so far (I know, I’ve been living under a rock, it’s true) but I really like it. Think I might be feeling the stirrings of a new television show addiction…

Oh Downton! Not to spoil anything, but Season One is better than Season Two. Not that that should stop you from watching them both in one long sitting with enough food and water beside you to keep you alive…
