I quite like a beard on a man. Two bearded men who hand-craft divine chocolate and artfully wrap it in custom print papers? Well, well!
If you are looking for inspiration to follow your dreams / craft / passions / curiosities, check out this film about the Mast Brothers. According to their website, they started making chocolate to serve at dinner parties for their mates and received positive feedback (something along the lines of “gaaaahhh…yummmmmm..”, I’m assuming). Leap forward five years or so and they now run a unique and successful family business. What I find fascinating is what I imagine happened in the five year space – curiosity, enthusiasm, skepticism, research, doubt, fear, optimism, lots of hard graft….
Interviewed and photographed by The Selby the brothers were asked what was their main inspiration to start Mast Brothers chocolate:
“Working with family and friends to make something from scratch that creates happiness.”
It’s that simple. Love it.
PS. This video was filmed by The Scout, as part of a three-part series about people who craft. I’m off to check out the other vids.
